I'm unique. I don't stand straight. I've got character and can have a bold presence. I like to have fun and to put on an element of surprise in a good way. I think others think I'm fun. And I'm warm and inviting with a touch of attitude.

I want this in my living room! It would make me happy to see this each day. Especially if sunlight would be flooding the room too. Plus there's something calming about a tick tock clock. Even those words are fun!

Beautiful Artistic Capture of a Tender Moment

I love the artistic flair of this photo, taken by freelance photojournalist Richard Lam. I'm not into kissing photos, but this is an epic shot! I love how only the couple are in focus, and all the other drama is out of focus. It's like the couple were in their own world. This picture was taken during the Vancouver Riot following the final Stanley Cup game a few days ago.

PB & J in a Can. Tasty.

Canned Sandwiches. Wow. What's next? Notice the slight note of sarcasm in the title? I suppose I shouldn't judge its taste without tasting it, though. I think I did a post way back when on a canned burger so it's probably not a new concept. Anyway, imagine eating a peanut butter and jam sandwich from a can. Interesting concept. The benefits of this sandwich are a long shelf life, no refrigeration required, and grab-and-go convenience.  All three of those 'benefits' make me wonder what kind of preservatives are in this product. I think it would be almost as fast to just make the sandwich from the other canned products - jam and peanut butter (ok, PB is not canned but still, it's a ready made product). And, whole wheat bread is so much tastier than white bread.

After hearing about this new product, I did some more research and came across this video.  Apparently, the peanut butter and the jam are in separate packages within the can and people still actually have to prepare the sandwich. The pepperoni pizza flavour has the pepperoni and sauce already prebaked into the bread. I do get the cleverness in the packaging. Put it in a can, then it can be sold in a typical pop vending machine.  Also, the can is sealed so the bacterial contamination is less likely. Still, I'm not entirely sold on the idea.

Hot Sauce Ice Cream

I gotta try this. I saw it on tv (The Doctors) while working out and looked it up online. Hot Sauce ice cream made with green tabasco sauce. I wonder if it would be good with rooster sauce - I could just add  some rooster sauce to some vanilla ice cream and mix it in. In the video, they were adding the hot sauce directly to the ice cream in addition to the hot pepper flavour. They also suggest it has a bit of a cinnamon after taste. I'm not sure about that, but I think it could be good. They describe it as at first being a little sweet, then becoming a little hot. If you're not sure what I mean by rooster sauce, it's the hot sauce with a green lid and a picture of a rooster on the bottle. It is found in Asian supermarkets and also in supermarkets with an International aisle.

Superman meets Medicine

So you thought Kryptonite was only linked to Superman? Well, now Kryptonite seems to have the power to aid in quicker recoveries from heart surgeries and bone repairs. Calgary doctors are using Kryptonite bone cement as glue to hold the sternum together. Doctors have also used Kryptonite (bone cement) to repair broken ribs. According to Medical Discovery News, this Kryptonite has a similar chemical formula to the chemicals Lex Luthor stole from the museum in Superman but it looks nothing like the green glowing crystals.

Walking Stick Flute

I want one of these....

I would choose the eagle head for the handle and I haven't chosen which design I'd go for the inked on design. It is built to withstand using the walking stick like a cane and they offer to cut the cane to whatever length you need. This bamboo walking stick is treated so you can use it in wet conditions. The cost is just $66 plus shipping and taxes I'm guessing. But a plain old boring (and not even strong for that matter) cane costs $30 plus taxes. I'd say it's worth it. Why should a cane be just a cane?

Llamas and Beautiful Things

I came across an amusing song / video. Click here to see the Llama Song. Kids would probably enjoy this song / video as well.

I also came across a blog that focuses on 3 Beautiful Things, or 3BT for short, the person experienced that day. This inspired me to make a list of my own for today, a day where several things seemed to go wrong.

1. 2 refreshing volunteers came that, despite very low turnout for the activity, served cheerfully and eagerly.

2. A good time of fellowship with co-workers at lunch ... the women's group where nobody turned up turned into a fun, relaxing hour with co-workers.

3. Bothwell cheese and quesadilla flavoured crackers. Mm mm good!

This exercise of thinking about 3 beautiful things in my day was really refreshing. I think I'll try it more often! You should try it yourself. Maybe you want to add a list of 3BT's as a comment.

Black bear along Bow Valley Parkway. The funny thing is that there were a pile of cars stopping to look at the bear! Such tourists! Ok, we stopped too, but black bears are not new to us.
