Weekend in Manitoba

This past weekend, I was at Mom and Dad's for most of the weekend. It was good. After getting up super early to catch my flight on Friday, I flew to Winnipeg. Julie and Brady picked me up from the airport. I gave Brady his birthday present. He seemed impressed. I bought a T-Rex magnastix thing that lights up and makes growling sounds. I helped Julie set up her computer in the afternoon. On Saturday, I spent quite a bit of time with my nieces. We got my bike up and running and took a spin around the block. The girls figured they'd need to take my wheelchair with as well so they could have a ride. And, ride, indeed. They decided I would PULL them around. One would sit in the chair and 'wheel' while the other sat on the back of my bike holding on to the chair. Quite the train. Later, we carved a pumpkin. For supper, the whole family was together. We had our traditional Thanksgiving meal - turkey, mashed potatoes, jello salad, stuffing, veggies, and pumpkin pie. Mmm mmm mmm. And, of course, in the evenings, Casey and I had specialty flavoured coffee and stayed up real late. On Sunday, I went to the small group (now apparently called 'Life Group') bbq in the park. It was a beautiful fall day. I love the crunch of leaves. I had to get up super early on Monday, once again, to catch my early morning flight. I was so exhausted by the end of Monday. But I had a good weekend. I was able to spend some time with friends as well in between.
