Not much is new this week. Other than my birthday. That day was pretty good. I did get slightly lost on my way home from a 'pub and grill' (Jorge invited the Spanish class out to celebrate my birthday). That's not new, though, because I am still trying to figure out how to get from Deerfoot onto Glenmore going west. I usually end up going to wrong direction. I ended up at a dead end into a park. The funny thing is that my cousin who lives in Calgary called to wish me a happy birthday and she got her map out and guided me back home. Now that I think of that, it really is quite funny. She was just as confused as I was as to where I was exactly. I only had the name of the park to go by. I'll chalk that experience up to be 'exploring' or 'discovering'. Or maybe 'an adventure'.
Yesterday, I went for a 'walk' with a couple friends. We ended up discovering a walking path through a beautiful park that none of us, although we live within blocks of each other and within blocks of the park, had ever seen. I knew about it because one of my co-workers had recommended going there. That's also why I lead in that direction. Anyway, it's a beautiful walking path along the Elbow. It leads to the convent. So, we explored the convent grounds as well. I knew there was a labyrinth there, and the Sisters at the convent had encouraged staff from my workplace to come and visit whenever we need a quiet place to go. There was this really cool tree that looks like it has 3 tumours on it. Maybe I'll be able to take a picture of it sometime and post it.
On a side note, we have had wonderful weather this week! High 20's. Feels like 30. Today is another beautiful day. Yay!
By the way, I got a birthday card from the Sisters at the convent. I wonder if they pray for the individuals that they send a card to on their birthday. I really felt like my birthday went well. I was not expecting a lot. That might have had something to do with it.
