The Chase

Today was a good day. It started off with a somewhat tense case management meeting with people who have varying opinions. Maybe that's healthy. Then I had Excel training for 3 hours. Yippee. (Slight note of sarcasm). Although I did learn a couple new tricks. It was basic training, so for the most part, nothing new. After lunch, I spent some time with my students. Then we headed to the shelter. It was good getting out there again.

I had to be back downtown by 5. I was a bit late. I picked up a friend and we headed out to meet up with a couple others to head out to Rosebud. We got to see a high speed police chase. They passed right by us on a 2 lane highway! That was kind of exciting. It appeared as though a spike belt was put out on one of the highways off the highway we were on. The police helicopter was following alongside the chase as well. We were hoping for more action - seeing a shoot out. That would have been cool! No such luck. The driver of the truck (who was fleeing from the police) must have turned off as the chopper changed directions. The group we met up with in Rosebud took a different route and saw police vehicles racing along the #1 so we figured they were trying to somehow cut the guy off from the other direction.

So, you may wonder what we were doing in Rosebud ... or where Rosebud even is. It is a little town, no a hamlet, on the way to Drumheller. Well, maybe a little off the road from the highway that goes to Drumheller. Anyway, out in the middle of nowhere. We went to see a play at the Rosebud Theatre. The play was called Lettice and Lovage.

I'd love to take a drive up that way again and just take pictures and roam around the little village. It is a beautiful drive. Not mountainous. But, nice rolling hills. I saw a neat really old house nestled amongst the trees. That would make a beautiful picture. And, of course, it'd be neat to take in another play.
